Pittsburgh Electrical Insulation’s HSP tape has been designed for use as an outside armor on stator, armature and field coils. In this application the shrink characteristics of HSP tape consolidates the coil and absorbs excess resin to form resin-coated coil surface. Its shrink characteristics add to the appearance of the coil. Bags, puckering and buckling are removed as a result of the shrinkage. The HSP tape is recommended for applications up to 155°C.
